Volunteerism
Volunteerism is the act of offering time, skills, and effort to benefit others without expecting monetary rewards. It plays a crucial role in addressing social challenges, empowering communities, and fostering a sense of unity. By volunteering, individuals contribute to causes like education, healthcare, environmental conservation, or disaster relief and experience personal growth. It cultivates essential skills such as leadership, teamwork, and empathy while creating opportunities to connect with diverse people and cultures. Beyond its impact on society, volunteerism is a powerful way to build a sense of purpose and fulfillment, as every small effort can lead to meaningful change. It reminds us of our shared humanity and our collective power to make the world a better place.

Volunteer for Bangladesh (JAAGO Foundation)
Volunteer, 26 December, 2023 - 30 August, 2024
Responsibilities:
As an active volunteer for Bangladesh (JAAGO Foundation), I worked in various fields such as project management, event planning, and field visiting. I organized many events to positively impact needy people’s lifestyles.
Field Visit:
1. 7 no. ghat Slum Area, Khulna, Bangladesh:
I went on a field visit with our HRO, CM to see their day-to-day lifestyles. From the field visit, we noticed that most of the people don’t know about the basic remedies for dog bites and basic knowledge of medicines.
Event 1: We also took a session on health and nutrition. We provided them with exact knowledge about how to take medicines properly according to their illness. Besides, we took a short session on “Primary Prevention of Dog Bites”. Lastly, we had a quick quiz session for them and we also arranged small gifts for the children.
2. Gollamari & Mouri Bridge, Khulna, Bangladesh:
I, along with our team members, visited the Gollamari and Mouri Bridge Lake areas to watch the condition of the water. From the field visit, we saw that the water condition is very much poor. Moreover, we couldn’t see any water as there were too many water hyacinths.
Event 2: We made a plan to collect the water hyacinths from the water and make crafts with the help of poor and middle-class women and help them sell those crafts to some companies.
3. Khokon Slum Area, Khulna, Bangladesh:
I went to the field visit as the project leader of the “Pitha Utshob” event along with my two project co-leaders and HRO. In winter, every person wants to taste pitha. So, we thought that the slum people couldn’t eat pitha as they don’t have any extra money sometimes. We made a field visit to that place and we met with 57 families in that place. From that place, around 35 families can’t eat properly in their day-to-day lives.
Event 3: We found a woman from that slum who earns money by making pitha in winter. We hired the women to make pithas for every people in that slum. We also provided the necessary items for making pithas and some of our team members also donated their handmade pithas to the poor family. We also gave some necessary things to the most needy people.
Event 4: We made a small event for the poor and needy street people in winter. The name of the event was “Warm Clothes Distribution”. We distributed approximately 550 clothes and some blankets to poor people on the streets. We did the event at night. First, we went to the streets to give those clothes to the needy people and then we went to the Khulna Railway Station to distribute the rest of it.
